It's that part of the page that is always so intimidating- the equivalent to the infamous awkward first date, the unwieldy question of "So, tell me about yourself," is made known. So, let me tell you about myself.

I am familiar with the pain of heartache, loss, and disappointment. I am deeply emotional and sensitive, but heaven forbid I tell you it hurts my feelings when you don't like a painting of mine. Somehow when the complexity of color and texture entered my world, I never stopped using mediums from expensive acrylics to house paint. Painting is reliable, and sometimes unpredictable. I imagine it to be one thing, but turns out as a finished product of it's own.

I now understand and resonate with the term "frustrated artist" and see why they're starving.
Now, why a platform such as this and not promote only my work? That's a great observation. I believe Springfield, Missouri is on the brink of an artistic cultural shift in the upcoming years. For me, I do not believe there is a digital presence that promotes the local artist in my town. If I want to have a working part in the guiding that change, as artists we all have to be for each other and not against each other.

I don't believe we are all competing against each other, I just believe that we all are struggling to just get our names out there. I want this to be a place where all art is promoted equally because we all could use a boost in our reputation as artists.
I was once told that, "Art is truly never finished"- A lame excuse my old high school English teacher justified for never giving out A's. It's true though. What I see in my eyes is imperfection, unresolved, incorrectly portrayed expression with my personal works. But perhaps you see a masterpiece, an emotional connection, or even a pleasant piece of canvas to look at when you're bored.
